After meeting at delegation-level at Delhi's Hyderabad House, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida extended a formal invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the G7 Summit. According to PM Modi, PM Kishida's visit will support the momentum of bilateral cooperation between India and Japan. He emphasised the significance of individual nations hosting the G20 and G7 conferences.

“One of the important pillars of our G20 leadership is to give voice to the priorities of the Global South…The India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership is based on our mutual democratic values and respect of the rule of law at the international platform,” PM Modi said at a joint press meet.

He claimed that maintaining peace in the Indo-Pacific area will depend significantly on the two nations' ability to strengthen their alliance. PM Modi claimed that important topics including the bilateral relationship, defence, business, and digital engagement were discussed.

The Prime Minister highlighted previous agreements with Japan, such as the $3.20 billion in Japanese investment in India, and noted that progress had been made in this area.

The new Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) plan will be presented at a lecture event later, according to Japanese Prime Minister Kishida (ICWA). “It gives me great pleasure to be able to unveil my new vision on the soil of India which is our indispensable partner in realising FOIP,” he said.
