Pakistan Army Chief and his family became billionaire in the last 6 years-Another billionaire in the making when Pak chooses its next Army Chief before 27th Nov

It is a universal fact that although Pakistan is one the poorest in the world their military brats are the richest among the military fraternity across the globe. It is an open secret that most of large business houses in Pakistan are owned by the people from the armed forces. They have stashed billions of dollars in their coffers in the West and their children well ensconced in the most affluent locations of the world. Unfortunately, the native Pakistanis are at the bottom of the global poverty index – the most deprived lots.

Pak Army Chief Bajwa’s family became billionaires in last six years. This damaging report has once again exposed the illegitimate rise of wealth of the family members of the most powerful person of Pakistan in a span of six years. The sensational report has unearthed how the extended families of Gen Bajwa managed to own farmhouses at different locations in Pakistan and acquired foreign properties by means of their ill-gotten money. The close family members included his wife Ayesha Amjad and his daughter-in-law Mahnoor Sabir.

An estimated Rs 12.7 billion has been usurped by Gen Bajwa and his extended family and invested in international business, multiple foreign properties, commercial plazas and malls, commercial plots, huge farmhouses in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.

Notably, Ayesha Amjad declared net zero value of her assets, during the financial year 2016, a year before Gen Bajwa took over as Army Chief. But within six years, the pilfered money accumulated to Rs 2.2 billion – not including residential plots, commercial plots and houses.

The astronomical change in affluence of Bajwa’s daughter-in-law Mahnoor Sabir is equally astounding. From ZERO in October 2018, it surpassed 1.2 billion in a week’s time before her marriage.

At the time, when Pakistan is going to appoint its new Army chief, the latest report has inflicted further damage to the integrity of the Armed Forces.

On a lighter vein, the prospects of the new chief will not only hang around the high esteem of the coveted position, it will also be weighed on its dollar-spinning capability.

Unfortunately, the Armed Forces have exploited the natives of Pakistan economically, culturally, socially and in every aspect that could have brought requisite growth and development, since its inception. The biggest enemy of Pakistan is its Army, and till the time Pakistanis are in their clutches, the prosperity, growth and development will be restricted within the corrupt military establishments, their tail-waggers in politics and power brokers.

God save the Pakistanis.
