Pakistan: Imran Khan Gets Interim Bail From Court

Pakistan: Imran Khan, the former prime minister, was given temporary release by a Pakistani court on Sunday until Friday for intimidating a female judge. Khan has promised to file a lawsuit against top police officers, the Election Commission, and political rivals for the treatment given to his aide Shahbaz Gill during a rally in Islamabad on August 20.

What was the issue?

When the Capital Region Police asked Additional Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry to allow Gill two days of custody, the former Prime Minister also used derogatory words in her defence. Chaudhry had been warned by Khan to “be ready as action will be taken against him.”
