Pakistan in Mourning! In Two Seprate Incidents, Gunmen Kill Eight School Teachers in Targeted Attack

Pakistan

Pakistan: In two separate episodes of targeted shooting on Thursday in Pakistan’s tense northwest tribal region bordering Afghanistan, eight teachers at schools were killed, according to authorities. In the first incident, unidentified gunmen broke into Teri Mengal High School’s staff room in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province’s Upper Kurram tribal district and killed seven teachers who were on duty for exams, according to police.

Many TTP leaders were arrested by Pakistani Security Forces

After the incident, the attackers escaped. A school teacher was slain in a separate incident when unidentified gunmen ambushed his car on Shalozan Road in the Parachinar capital of the same district. No group or person took ownership of the attacks. To find the murderers, the police have launched a major search. The Tehrik-e-Taliban(TTP) commander Abdul Jabar Shah and two other TTP members were murdered and many other TTP leaders were arrested in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region by Pakistani security forces barely two days before to the current developments. All of the district’s medical facilities have been placed under a state of emergency following the gruesome shooting incident. After the killings, the Kohat Board test for the 9th and 10th grades was also postponed. President Arif Alvi denounced the occurrence and hoped that the offenders would be quickly apprehended and dealt with in accordance with the law.

The operation against terrorists would continue until all terrorists were completely destroyed-ISPR

Separately, a clash between security forces and the terrorists took place on Thursday in northwest Pakistan, resulting in at least six soldiers being killed and three terrorists being killed. According to the army’s media arm, Inter–Services Public Relations (ISPR), the clash between the army and the militants took place in the Dirdoni region of the North Waziristan tribal province. The militant group, which was formed in 2007 as an umbrella organisation for a number of militant groups, broke off a truce with the federal government and instructed its members to carry out terrorist strikes across the entire nation. The retaliatory fire also resulted in the injuries of two terrorists. According to the ISPR, ‘the operation against terrorists would continue until all terrorists were completely destroyed.’
