Qatar Airways prevents Plus-sized woman from occupying economy seat. This is what happens next

Qatar Airways: Having been deemed “too huge” to fit in an economy class seat, Qatar Airways was forced to cover the cost of the plus-sized passenger’s psychotherapy sessions.

The Independent claims that in a November 22 incident, 38-year-old Brazilian model Juliana Nehme accused the airline of treating her unfairly due to her weight.

Nehme was asked to pay additional charges

Nehme said that she was prevented from claiming her place in the lower class. Instead, a member of the Qatar Airways crew informed her that she would only be permitted to board after spending an additional $3000 on a business class ticket in addition to the $1000 she had already paid for her economy seat.

She posted a video of the incident to Instagram, where it quickly gained popularity. Nehme said that Qatar Airways failed to issue her a ticket refund and that she was denied boarding her flight from Beirut, Lebanon, to Doha. She also missed her trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil, on the connection.
