Qatar has denied allegations of interfering in Israeli elections by allegedly providing funds to influence Arab voters, accusing Israeli politicians and media contacts of spreading misinformation. The denial comes as Israel’s domestic security agency, Shin Bet, investigates suspected foreign funding aimed at influencing voting in Arab communities.

According to a report by India Today published on October 29, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari rejected the allegations, saying the country should not be made a scapegoat for the political failures of Israeli politicians.
Qatar Rejects Allegations of Israeli Elections Interference
Al Ansari said Qatar categorically denied interfering in Israel’s elections or financing activities intended to influence the outcome. He alleged that the accusations were part of a disinformation campaign designed to draw Qatar into Israel’s domestic political disputes.
The allegations reportedly involve suspicions that foreign entities, potentially including Qatar and Turkey, channelled money to influence voting in Arab communities. The investigation followed a directive from Israel’s Central Elections Committee chairman, Justice Noam Sohlberg, according to the report.
Shin Bet Investigates Suspected Foreign Funding
The investigation has brought renewed attention to concerns about foreign involvement in Israel’s electoral process. However, the allegations against Qatar remain disputed, and the reported investigation does not by itself establish that the country interfered in the elections.
