Queen Elizabeth’s Health Deteriorates, Doctors Voice Concern

Queen Elizabeth Health: Doctors have expressed concern for the 96-year-old monarch’s health on Thursday and advised that she should remain under medical supervision, prompting family members to rush to be by her side.

The queen, the oldest monarch in the world and the monarch with the longest reign in the United Kingdom, has experienced “episodic mobility problems” since the end of 2017.

“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” the palace said in a statement.

“The queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”

Her eldest son and heir Prince Charles and his wife Camilla have travelled to her Scottish home Balmoral Castle, where she is staying, along with his eldest son Prince William, officials said.

“My prayers, and the prayers of people across the @churchofengland and the nation, are with Her Majesty The Queen today,” Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, said on Twitter.

Elizabeth had to limit her public appearances after spending the night in the hospital in October of last year. She cancelled a virtual meeting with senior ministers on Wednesday after receiving medical advice to rest.

She had appointed Liz Truss as the nation’s new prime minister the day before at Balmoral, making her the 15th prime minister during her record-breaking reign.

A palace source downplayed rumours that the monarch had fallen and stated that only immediate family members had been informed.
