Russia-Ukraine War: Amid Bombing, Ukraine Eliminates Around 64,000 Russian Troops, Warns of Power Cuts

Russia-Ukraine War: Recently, Ukraine asserted that over 600 communities had been freed from Russian occupation in the previous month by its military forces. 75 of them are located in the extremely important Kherson region.
While Russian missiles continue to bombard power plants and electrical stations, multiple Ukrainian cities have been experiencing power outages and blackouts. According to reports, the nation’s energy infrastructure has suffered damage to the extent of 30%.
Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, has proposed making Turkey a “gas centre” and increasing gas exports via the Turk Stream gas pipeline in the midst of the crisis. In light of the fact that gas prices are still roughly 90% higher than they were a year ago and concerns about shortages during the upcoming winter, Europe is attempting to reduce its energy use, according to Reuters.

Here are the most recent events in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict as it enters its eighth month of spiralling:

By July 2023, renovations to a bridge in Crimea will be complete.
According to a document posted on the Russian government’s website, repairs to the bridge between Russia and the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula would be concluded by July 2023. Last Saturday, an explosion caused damage to the bridge.

Kherson evacuation:

A Russian-installed authority advised Kherson citizens to flee for their safety. Following this, it is now anticipated that refugees from Kherson will start arriving in Russia on Friday. All residents of the seized Kherson region who choose to flee to Russia will receive free housing, according to authorities.

Vladimir Saldo, the head of the Kherson administration that was imposed by Russia, said in a video message that “we urged that all residents of the Kherson region, if they choose, to protect themselves from the effects of missile strikes, go to other regions.” “Leave with your children,” the people should say.
Additional blackouts in Ukraine The administration of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that millions of people now had access to electricity. He also urged citizens to conserve electricity wherever feasible and cautioned Ukrainians to brace themselves for more blackouts.

A “gas centre” in Turkey has been suggested by Vladimir Putin, who had previously offered to send gas to Europe via one complete section of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. He proposed increasing gas exports to Turkey via the Turk Stream gas pipeline that runs beneath the Black Sea. On the eve of a regional summit in Kazakhstan, he proposed the idea to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In response to the development, France stated that Putin’s new suggestion to “allow more Russian gas to be imported” makes “no sense.”

The announcement came as supply to Germany via the Nord Stream pipeline under the Baltic Sea had already been suspended. The European Union is also attempting to wean itself off Russian gas, whose scarcity has driven up energy prices.
