Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned Russia’s latest mass drone attack, describing it as the largest of the war. In an overnight assault, Moscow launched 267 attack drones, targeting Ukrainian cities and villages. The president called for unity among Ukraine’s allies as the country continues to endure relentless aerial strikes.

"Every day, our people stand against aerial terror," Zelenskyy wrote on X. "On the eve of the third anniversary of the full-scale war, Russia launched 267 attack drones against Ukraine—the largest attack since Iranian drones began striking our cities and villages."

Ukraine's air force reported that 138 drones were shot down, while another 119 disappeared from radars after being jammed by electronic warfare. In addition to the drones, Russia fired three ballistic missiles. Damage was reported across five Ukrainian regions, though the full extent remains unclear.

Escalating Drone Strikes Put Pressure on Ukraine’s Defenses

Russia has been conducting near-nightly drone attacks, aiming to wear down Ukraine’s air defenses. According to Zelenskyy, in the past week alone, Russia launched nearly 1,150 attack drones, more than 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and 35 missiles of various types. The increasing frequency of these assaults has placed immense pressure on Ukraine's military capabilities.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to those operating Ukraine's air defense systems and urged Western allies to remain united in securing peace. "This is achievable through the unity of all partners—we need the strength of all of Europe, the strength of America, the strength of everyone who seeks lasting peace," he emphasized.

Concerns Over Western Support Amid US Political Shifts

Ukraine’s plea for international support comes amid growing concerns over Western commitment. Kyiv and its European allies were unsettled by former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent verbal attack on Zelenskyy. Additionally, a U.S.-Russia meeting in Riyadh, held without Ukraine’s participation, raised further worries about the country’s diplomatic standing.

As Ukraine approaches the third anniversary of the war, its leadership remains focused on rallying global support to withstand Russia’s ongoing military aggression.
