Two of the more than 100 teens who had gathered at a house party on Saturday were killed and six others were injured in a shooting in Georgia, according to authorities.

The incidents that took place at the Douglasville home are being pieced together by investigators. It is unknown if more than one person did the shooting because no arrests have been made in connection with it.

According to Trent Wilson, captain of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the Saturday night shooting started between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. He has urged prospective witnesses to reveal additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting and those responsible.

"We know that there was a house party where well over a hundred teenagers were attending. A confrontation occurred that resulted in two deaths and six injured from gun shots. Information is very limited at this time," in a statement posted on social media on Sunday morning the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said .

Wilson said the two who died were under the age of 18, but he would not give their names.

The capital city of Georgia, Atlanta, is located just over 20 miles (32 kilometres) west of Douglasville.
