South Korea Stampede: Over 120 died, more than 80 injured as Halloween shopping goes brutal

Over 120 people died and more than 80 injured in a stampede at a famous market in South Korea’s capital Seoul. The massive crowd gathered for Halloween shopping.

Local media said the narrow alleys of Itaewon were jam-packed with as many as 100,000 people for the Halloween festivities on Saturday evening.

A fire department official confirmed the incident to news agency AFP, saying that more than 140 ambulances had been dispatched to the scene.

“All related ministries and agencies, led by the minister of public administration and security, should make every effort to promptly provide aid to the victims, said South Korea President,” President Yoon Suk-yeol.
