Sudan fighting: India Today reports that there was yet another round of shelling and looting in the Sudanese capital.
Khartoum residents told Reuters that a fresh round of shelling erupted between the Sudanese Army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Monday, June 5. Some people also reported physical clashes between the two military factions in east Khartoum and other parts of the Sudanese capital.
A ceasefire brokered between the two rivals by Saudi Arabia and the United States expired on Saturday last week.
The internal war in Sudan has displaced more than 1.2 million people and forced 400, 000 Sudanese to move to other countries.
There are daily reports of militias looting shops and civilian establishments with nobody to stop the looters. However, the RSF says it is punishing the lawbreakers in its territory.
