Panic has taken over social media as a terrifying Japan earthquake prediction made by a self-professed prophet known as the 'Japanese Baba Vanga' goes viral with the eruption of a volcano in Japan.

The similarity in events has caused fear of a deadly tsunami on July 5. The viral prophecy, made by a presumably anonymous Japanese mystic, suggested a significant seismic event would happen in early July, fervently shared in an unprecedented situation across Asia and far beyond.

The fear intensified remarkably after Mount Sakurajima, an active volcano in southern Japan, violently erupted just days before the predicted length. The volcano spread ash and lava in a violent eruption, with death that made people uneasy, and many considered this eruption the 'starting point' of the predicted earthquake event and the tsunami chain reaction.

Prophecy and Panic: What the "Japanese Baba Vanga" Said

The unidentifiable prophet, now referred to on social media as "Japan's Baba Vanga," purportedly predicted a mega earthquake and tsunami could strike parts of Japan - and maybe the Pacific - around July 5, 2025. Although there is no evidence to support the claim, the eruption of Mount Sakurajima has contributed to the belief about the prediction.

Japanese Officials Want Calm

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has recognized the eruption and issued warnings for falling ash and minor tremors where the eruption occurred. However, officials discredited the viral prophet and encouraged people not to succumb to misinformation.

"No scientific organization has made any predictions or any statements about the possibility of there being a major earthquake or tsunami on July 5," the JMA urged. "We ask the public to keep calm and only follow official notices."

The Viral Effect: Fear and Fact

While Japan regularly has seismic and volcanic activity, the mix of folklore, prediction, and real-time natural events makes this an earthquake and tsunami panic trifecta. Experts have already cautioned the public against linking folklore with geological features and suggested that the psychological impact of misinformation can have significant ramifications.

Still, with the volcanic eruption acting as a catalyst, the Japan earthquake prediction is dominating public discourse and serves as a reminder of how quickly fear can spread in the digital age.
