Twitter: Elon Musk predicts a decline in followers. This is why

Twitter: Elon Musk has disclosed that Twitter is removing a large number of spam/scam accounts from the platform. Musk was on the fence about buying the firm before his formal takeover because he believed Twitter’s then-CEO, Parag Agrawal, and the company lied about spam accounts on the platform. Twitter then claimed that spam accounts account for approximately 5% of its total user base, which the Tesla CEO rejected. Some experts believe that the number of spam accounts on Twitter is higher – likely 17% of the total user base. Musk claims that customers may witness a decline in followers as the business cracks down on spam/scam accounts.

Is reduction the result of the suspension of spam accounts?

In Q2 2022, Twitter had approximately 238 million mDAU, but Musk maintains that the firm is seeing huge growth without providing a precise figure. He has also not revealed an estimate of the number of spam profiles on the network or how they are identifying these accounts in order to eradicate them. Many other platforms, like Instagram and Facebook, are affected by the spam profile problem. Celebrities and artists frequently complain about a sudden decline in their follower numbers. Frequently, social media corporations have claimed that the reduction is the result of the suspension of spam accounts.

Musk clarifies rumors of removing Twitter from the Apple App

Musk also stated earlier this week that Apple has no intentions to remove Twitter from the Apple App Store for iOS. He stated in a tweet, “Excellent conversation. We also cleared up a misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store. Tim was emphatic that Apple would never consider doing so.” He said that Apple has discontinued advertising on the platform and threatened to remove Twitter from the App Store. He also accused Apple of being anti-free speech and taking money from developers with its 30% Apple App Store fee.
