Twitter: Day after Elon Musk gave Twitter staff the choice to work "long hours at high intensity" or quit, hundreds of workers at the social media powerhouse reportedly made their decision to depart the organisation. On Thursday afternoon, Twitter employees started using the salute emoji, which has come to represent someone leaving the organisation. One worker at Twitter claimed in a tweet that choosing to work there was "one of the simplest decisions ever made." Today's departure decision was totally the reverse.

"Taking exit option, I'm free!"
The answer "Taking exit option, I'm free!" was selected by 42% of 180 respondents in a poll on the workplace app Blind, which validates employees by their work email addresses and allows them to share information anonymously.
Many current and former Twitter employees, according to sources, joined a new group called "voluntary layoff," where blue hearts and salute emojis swamped the company's internal chat channels.
More than a dozen Twitter employees from around the US and Europe had announced their resignations by 6 p.m., Eastern, according to sources, assessment of public tweets, though it was unable to independently confirm each resignation.

Musk ruthlessly reshaping the culture
Although it's unclear how many workers have opted to stay, the statistics show that some employees are reluctant to be in a company where Musk has swiftly fired half the workforce, including senior management, and is ruthlessly reshaping the culture to emphasise long hours and a fast pace.
The business had warned its employees that they would receive a "offer of severance in exchange for a separation agreement" if they refused to accept the suggested terms and support Musk's vision of "Twitter 2.0."
According to previous reports, the firm will temporarily close its headquarters until November 21 and restrict credential access because it is worried about the reaction to the ultimatum set by Twitter's new CEO.
