UK: In the midst of the political and economic unrest in Britain, UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman resigned from her position, claiming that she had broken government regulations. She expressed worries about the government's course under Prime Minister Liz Truss, though.
Braverman now the second senior member in PM Liz Truss's Cabinet to resign in less than a week
The 42-year-old minister's resignation makes her the second senior member in PM Liz Truss's Cabinet to resign in less than a week. Jeremy Hunt took over as Finance Minister on October 14 when Kwasi Kwarteng was fired. Braverman tweeted her resignation letter.

"I have made a mistake. I accept responsibility and I resign," she wrote.
Braverman said in the letter that an email she sent to a "trusted parliamentary colleague" violated "technical standards." She stated that a draft written ministerial statement she had sent about migration was ready for publication. "Much of it was briefed to MPs. Nevertheless, it is right for me to go," Braverman sent the PM a letter.
She claimed that as soon as she realised her error, she immediately reported the situation through official means. "I have made a mistake. I accept responsibility and I resign," she wrote.
Braverman expressed uncertainty about the government's course as PM Truss battles a spiralling pound and a turbulent economy brought on by her now-reversed tax-cut strategy. Not only have we breached important promises made to our voters, but I also have major doubts about this government's dedication to upholding manifesto objectives, like lowering overall migration rates and halting illegal immigration, the politician stated.
Suella Braverman claimed earlier this month that a trade agreement with India will increase immigration to the UK since Indians make up the "biggest group of persons who overstay" their visas in the country. Her comments were made as India and the UK were attempting to reach a free trade pact.

The comment was made by British politician Suella Braverman, who is of Indian descent, in an interview for the British weekly publication "The Spectator."
The Indian High Commission in the UK responded to her statement by stating that all instances brought to it under the Migration and Mobility Partnership had been taken up by India (MMP).
One of the candidates for the PM position, for which elections were held earlier this year, was Braverman, a native of Goa.
