Pentagon has released a selfie photograph taken by a U2 spy plane that was tracking the mysterious Chinese Spy balloon, before it was mysteriously shot down by F-22 fighter jet of US Airforce. The Spy Balloon was shot down off the coast of South Carolina and had mysterious , silvery sphere of the balloon with panles dangling. The picture was taken by the airmen of U2 spy plane as the balloon entered the airspace above continental US at high altitude.

Selfie was taken in the cockpit of a U-2 spy plane, as airmen flew over the Chinese surveillance balloon. The balloon was spotted by the US on January 28. The photo clearly shows pilot flying above the balloon, which was hovering 60,000 feet when it was spotted over Montana.
The spy balloon was tracked by the US authorities above Montana and it also flew over strategic security assets of the US. ,before it was shot down over the South Carilona Coast , Atlantic Ocean by a single missile fired from an F-22 Raptor fighter jet that took off from Langley airforce base in Virginia.

High Altitude Balloon was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection cooperation
Pentagon had stated earlier this month that fly-bys “revealed that the high altitude balloon was capable of conducting signals intelligence collection cooperation”
US President Joe Biden had stated that the mysterious craft had been gathering information over America. However China had asserted that it was a weather balloon which had gone adrift.
Media reports stated that recovery efforts began immediately after the balloon was shot down over the Atlantic Ocean on February 4 and was concluded on February 17. Debri of the balloon is in the possession of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Laboratory where experts are analyzing it.
In the meantime, Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh has revealed that the payload of the balloon has been recovered.
