World Leaders Converge in New Delhi for G20 Summit, Here’s Detail

Leaders from the G20 major economies are gathering in New Delhi, with India at the helm, to address critical global issues amid the backdrop of the ongoing Ukraine conflict. India has implemented extensive measures, including the use of drones, artistic murals, and large langur cutouts, to enhance security and logistical arrangements for this important event.

The arrival times and reception details for several world leaders have been outlined as follows:

  1. US President Joe Biden is expected to arrive around 6.55 pm and will be received by Minister of State VK Singh.
  2. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will arrive at 1.40 pm and will be received by MOS Ashwini Choubey.
  3. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s arrival is scheduled for 12:30 pm, with MOS Darshan Jardosh receiving her.
  4. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is set to arrive at 2.15 pm and will be received by MoS Choubey.
  5. Italy’s Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, will land at 6:20 am and will be received by MOS Shobha Karadlaje.
  6. China’s Premier Li Qiang will arrive at 7.45 pm and will be received by MOS Gen (retd.) VK Singh.
  7. UAE President HH Shaikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is expected to arrive at 8 pm and will be received by Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai.
  8. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will arrive at 6.15 pm and will be received by Union Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
  9. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is scheduled to arrive on September 9 at 8 am and will be received by MOS Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma.
  10. French President Emmanuel Macron is set to arrive at 12:35 pm and will be received by MOS Anupriya Patel.

In addition to these leaders, the G20 Summit will include participation from countries such as Nigeria, Argentina, Italy, the African Union (represented by Comros), South Africa, the United Kingdom, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, Egypt, Australia, the United States, Canada, China, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, Spain, Germany, France, Mauritius, the European Union, and Singapore. The summit aims to address pressing global challenges and foster international cooperation in a complex geopolitical landscape.
