World's Most Powerful Passports 2023 List Is Out; Check India's rank

According to the Henley Passport Index for 2023, a list of the world's most powerful passports has been publicly released. Based on information provided by the International Air Transport Association, Henley & Partners, a global citizenship and residence advice company with offices in London, has compiled this list (IATA).

“The index includes 199 passports and 227 travel destinations, giving users the most extensive and reliable information about their global access and mobility,” the official release said. The index updated quarterly, is considered as the standard reference tool for global citizens and sovereign states when assessing where a passport ranks on the global mobility spectrum.

According to the list, Japan has the most powerful passport in the world, with Singapore and South Korea sharing the second place. The third-ranked passport-issuing nations in the world are Germany and Spain.

Finland, Italy, and Luxembourg took the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, while Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden had the fifth-strongest passports.

India's place India is placed 85th in the list of the world's most powerful passports for 2023. 59 destination worldwide are visa-free entry points for the nation. India was placed 82nd in 2019, 84th in 2020, 85th in 2021, and 83rd in 2022, respectively.
