Snowfall Update: The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) warned on Thursday that the snowfall in Himachal Pradesh will get heavier beginning today. The weather service also said that snowfall will continue today. The IMD also stated that snowfall in the area is forecast for January 23 to January 26. They also mentioned that considerable snowfall is predicted for the middle and high ranges between January 24 and January 25. Read below for latest snowfall update.
CM Sukhu on Himachal Pradesh snowfall
The district administration was also warned by the state government to guarantee sufficient readiness throughout the state, including snow-clearance operations to unclog congested roadways. Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhu said, “The government is ready for any kind of weather alert. Authorities have been directed to with their snow clearance drives in roads amid heavy snow.”
Over Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, a weak western disturbance is already present. As well as Himachal Pradesh, stray clouds have also passed across Uttrakhand. Snow fell in the Kashmir Valley’s middle reaches, and light rain fell in the valley’s lower reaches and foothills.
Where else will snowfall wreak havoc?
Between January 24 and January 26, a large amount of snow will fall in well-known locations including Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Manali, Shimla, Kufri, and higher altitudes of Uttrakhand like Kedarnath, Badrinath, and Hemkund Sahib. Even Mussoorie and Nainital have an opportunity to get a little snowfall. One thing is for certain: the entire mountain range will be “white on white,” delighting visitors.
Beginning on January 23 and continuing through January 28 or perhaps longer until the tail end of the month, unfavourable weather conditions are anticipated to hit over both the highlands and the plains.
