DC vs GT IPL 2023: Gujarat Titans on Winning Chariot ! Beats Delhi Capitals by Six Wickets and 11 Balls to Spare

DC vs GT IPL 2023: Reigning Champions Gujarat Titans have continued in this tournament from where they left off. In their second match against Delhi Capitals today at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, GT defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets and 11 balls to spare. Earlier, Hardik Pandya won the toss and opt to field first, bowlers did a commendable job as Delhi Capitals scored 162/8 runs. Coming to chase, after quick wickets, Sai Sudarshan (62* off 48) anchored the innings and took his team to victory with David Miller’s support in the end by chasing the target in 18.1 overs.

This also marks the second consecutive victory for Gujarat Titans while a second consecutive loss for Delhi Capitals in the new tournament. Also, Rishabh Pant came to cheer for his team, making his first appearance since the severe car accident that he suffered in December last year.

Gujarat Titans Chases Easy Target

Coming to chase a total of 163 runs, the Gujarat Titans opener completely faltered as Shubman Gill scored 14 off 13 balls while Wriddhiman Saha scored 14 off 7 balls. Skipper Hardik Pandya could also muster just 5 runs off 4 balls. However, Sai Sudarshan (62* off 48) and Vijay Shankar (29 off 23) played a crucial role and scored big runs.

It was David Miller (31* off 16) in the end who got along with big hits and ended up taking his team to the win line. In the 16th over, he smacked 20 runs. Anrich Nortje picked up a couple of wickets while Khaleel Ahmed and Mitchel Marsh also grabbed one wicket. The team comfortably chased down the target in 18.1 overs.

Axar & Warner led DC to decent total

Earlier, Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field in the match. Delhi Capitals did not have a good time with bat as most of the batters failed to play a significant inning. Opener David Warner scored 37 runs off 32 balls, hitting seven boundaries. The rest of the top order failed as Prithvi Shaw scored 7, Mitchell Marsh scored 4, and Rossouw scored 0.

Sarfaraz Khan played a valiant knock, scoring 30 off 34 balls. However, in the end, Abhishek Porel (20 off 11) and Axar Patel (36 off 22) played the much-needed cameo, guiding their team to a respectable total. Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami picked up a three-wicket haul while Alzarri Joseph took two.
