Vicky Kaushal: From Boy Next Door In Masaan To Burly Built In Chhaava, His Transformation Speaks Volumes – Check

Vicky Kaushal went from the slim guy in Masaan to a ripped warrior in Chhaava. His shocking transformation won the hearts of fans. Check details!

Vicky Kaushal started his acting career looking like the boy next door in Masaan. His slim frame and natural acting won hearts, and he quickly became known for emotional, grounded roles. He made headlines for his dramatic physical transformation over the years, which grabbed everyone’s attention.

In this 2025 historical drama, Vicky plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the Maratha warrior king. To look the part, he put on nearly 25 kilos, going from 80 kg to 105 kg in just seven months. It wasn’t just about gaining muscle, but a full lifestyle shift.

How Vicky Kaushal Built His Warrior Body

Vicky Kaushal’s physical transformation took serious effort. He trained hard every day. His workouts included weightlifting, squats, deadlifts, tyre flips, and battle rope exercises. These helped him gain strength and stamina. He also did mobility and recovery routines to avoid injury and stay flexible.

He didn’t stop at just fitness. He trained in horse riding, sword fighting, and spear combat to prepare for action scenes. As he said, “You should be able to handle the sword as your right hand. Pata nahin lagna chahiye ki tum ladh rahe ho ki naach rahe ho.” That meant becoming fully comfortable with every movement.

To match the physical training, his diet was carefully planned. Vicky followed a vegetarian, protein-rich plan. He ate foods like paneer, soya chunks, lentils, and sweet potatoes. His meals were designed by a nutritionist, and there were no cheat days.

A Strict Routine And Total Commitment

Vicky’s daily routine changed completely during his prep for Chhaava. He would wake up at 4 a.m. and go to bed by 8:30 p.m. He avoided social outings and stayed focused on his goal. He called this “the toughest role” of his career. It was not just about muscles, but about getting into the mind of a warrior.

Even a minor injury during training didn’t stop him. He recovered fast and came back with the same focus. His trainer said Vicky woke up “like a warrior” even during recovery days.

His Body Transformation From Masaan To Chhaava Paid Off

Vicky Kaushal’s physical transformation reflects his growth as an actor. In Masaan, he was lean and emotional. With Uri: The Surgical Strike, he stepped into more action-heavy roles. But Chhaava took things to a whole new level. This time, he had to fully become the role, and he did.

Unlike films that depend on VFX or fake muscles, Chhaava kept things real with heavy armour, real stunts, and no shortcuts.

This film smashed box office records, crossing Rs 300 crore in just a few weeks. It has become Vicky Kaushal’s biggest hit yet. His transformation clearly paid off (both on and off screen).
