Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday visited the historic Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, a deeply revered site in Sikh history, associated with the supreme sacrifice of the younger Sahibzadas—Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji—sons of the 10th Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, along with their grandmother Mata Gujri Ji.

During his visit, the Chief Minister bowed his head in reverence, offering heartfelt prayers for the welfare and prosperity of all. He expressed that standing on this sacred land, blessed by the presence of the revered family of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, was a moment of profound spiritual fulfilment. “I prayed for Sarbat da Bhala, the well-being of everyone. The darshan of this pious place has brought immense peace and tranquillity to my mind,” Mann said.
The Gurdwara holds immense historical significance as it marks the site where the younger Sahibzadas, aged just 9 and 7, along with Mata Gujri Ji, were martyred by the Mughal rulers for refusing to renounce their faith. Their unwavering courage and steadfastness remain an eternal symbol of sacrifice in Sikh history.

Mann noted that visiting such sites not only connects one to the roots of Sikh heritage but also inspires a commitment to uphold truth, justice, and compassion in public life. He emphasised that the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, particularly the values of equality, unity, and selfless service, are guiding principles for governance and social welfare in Punjab.
The Chief Minister also interacted with the Gurdwara management and devotees present at the shrine, praising their efforts in maintaining the sanctity of the premises and facilitating pilgrim services. He said that preserving and promoting Punjab’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage would remain a key priority for the state government.
