Superstar Akshay Kumar has finally addressed the controversy surrounding Paresh Rawal’s brief exit from Hera Pheri 3. In a recent interview, the actor confirmed that the duo is on good terms again and reassured fans that the original team is reuniting.
The third instalment of the iconic Hera Pheri series has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. When veteran actor Paresh Rawal announced his departure earlier this year, fans were left shocked. Rumours of a fallout between Rawal and Akshay Kumar soon surfaced. As things escalated, reports hinted at a legal tussle between the actors, sparking debates about whether the drama was real or staged for publicity.
Was Paresh Rawal\’s Hera Pheri 3 Exit A Publicity Stunt?
Addressing the issue again, he told Hindustan Times, “Nahi, yeh publicity stunt nahi hai. The things went legal, so when legal things are involved, we cannot call it a publicity stunt – it is a real thing.”
The actor further explained that all issues have now been resolved. “But ab sab kuch thik ho gaya hai. Very soon, some kind of announcement can come. Yes, there were some ups and downs. But now everything is solved, and we are back together, and we have always been together. Yes, that’s it!”
This confirmation has brought a sense of relief to fans who have long awaited updates on Hera Pheri 3. The return of Akshay, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty means that the original trio will once again grace the screen, bringing with them the comic timing and chemistry that made the franchise a classic.
Director Priyadarshan, who helmed the original Hera Pheri in 2000, also shared his joy about the reunion. He had previously revealed that Paresh Rawal’s comeback was an emotional and significant moment for the team.
In May, Rawal had announced his decision to step away from the project. However, in a recent podcast with Himanshu Mehta, he confirmed his return. He said, “It was always meant to happen, but we needed to fine-tune a few things. All of them (Priyadarshan, Akshay, Suniel) are not only creative minds but also longtime friends.”

Akshay Kumar will soon be seen alongside Saif Ali Khan in Priyadarshan’s upcoming film Haiwaan. Speaking about their collaboration, he said, “It’s great that I am working again with Priyadarshan ji, and sabse achhi baat yeh hai ki main Saif Ali Khan ke saath kaam kar raha hoon… He is also a very funny guy, but farak yehi hai ki uska jo humour hai woh bohot hi SoBo hai… aur mera jo hai woh Andheri, Borivali se aage tak jaata hai.”
Akshay was last seen in Housefull 5 and now has releases like Jolly LLB 3, Welcome To The Jungle, and Bhooth Bangla.
