To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock but we are not giving up.”

Khalistani Terrorist Claims Responsibility
Shockingly, Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. Laddi is on India’s most-wanted list and is connected with the banned group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
Reports suggest that the firing could be linked to one of Kapil Sharma’s past comments. However, it is not yet clear if the cafe was directly targeted or if it was a warning aimed at the comedian.
Canadian journalist Sameer Kaushal posted a video from the scene. It showed broken glass windows with several bullet holes. He reported that about 12 bullets were fired at the cafe.
Police Begin Investigation
Surrey Police released an official statement about the shooting. They said, “On Thursday, July 10, at 1:50 a.m., Surrey Police Service was called to a business located in the 8400 block of 120 Street for a report of shots fired,” the statement read.
Police confirmed that the shooting happened while staff members were inside the cafe. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Officers collected evidence from the scene and looked for CCTV footage and witnesses. So far, no suspects have been found.
