The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3: ‘Dhandha Karne Ka Ek Hi Fanda’ Aman Gupta On Failures Before Success, Relatives’ Double Standards

Aman Gupta recalled his journey from failures to success on The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 and reacted with Navjot Singh's iconic 'Thoko Taali'. Check!

The latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 brought together India’s top entrepreneurs for a perfect mix of humour and inspiration. BOAT’s Aman Gupta, MamaEarth’s Ghazal Alagh, OYO’s Ritesh Agarwal, and Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma joined host Kapil Sharma on stage.

BOAT’s Aman Gupta Says Thoko Taali On The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3

Aman Gupta, co-founder of BOAT, shared his mantra for business: “Dhanda karne ka ek hi fanda, kabhi na hona sharminda.” He then mimicked Navjot Singh Sidhu and said, “Thoko taali.” He opened up about how people treated him differently during failures and after success.

Aman recalled, “I had a relative who completely ignored me back when my first few ventures flopped. Wo bhao bhi nhi dete the, baat bhi nahi karte the. But as soon as I found success with my business, they turned around and said, ‘Come here, my beta.”

Pulling a joke, Aman credited Archana Puran Singh’s laughter for BOAT’s success. He said, “Aapki laughter ko humne R&D factory mein diya hua hai noise cancellation check karne ke liye. Humare saare headphone hit hai.” Archana jokingly demanded equity in the company for her contribution, leaving everyone in stitches.

Kapil Sharma Teases Ghazal Alagh

Kapil Sharma kept the energy high with playful jabs. He teased Ghazal Alagh about MamaEarth roping in Shilpa Shetty as their brand ambassador, asking if it was to convince fathers to buy the products. A fan in the audience added to the fun, jokingly requesting the CEOs to make an app to track her husband whenever he went missing.

OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal also shared his struggles, including how many people still mispronounce his company’s name as “YoYo.” Kapil asked him to elaborate on his famous line, “If you want to be a successful businessman, you have to abandon shame.”

Ritesh shared, “I am from Odisha. The general belief in my family was that landing a decent job with a three lakh annual salary would change our lives across generations. Coming from there, even having the ambition to achieve something big was a huge deal. I let go of the shame. I decided that no matter the job, if I started my first hotel, I would be at the front desk, cleaning, doing whatever was needed. That mindset taught me a lot and freed me from worrying about what relatives or anyone else would say. People will always have something to say—logon ka kaam hai kehna.”

The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 streams on Netflix with fresh episodes every Saturday at 9 pm.
