Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has dropped the teaser for its upcoming rom-com, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf. Written and directed by Shashank Khaitan, the teaser gives a funny and quirky peek into the film, hinting at comedy, romance, and drama.
This movie also marks Janhvi Kapoor’s second big release in just two months after Param Sundari on August 29. Produced by Karan Johar and Adar Poonawalla, with Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan on board, the film promises a colourful and entertaining experience.
Varun Dhawan Channels Prabhas In Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari Teaser
The teaser opens with Varun Dhawan dressed as Prabhas from Baahubali. In a hilarious moment, he asks Buntu (played by Abhinav Sharma) how he looks. Buntu replies, “Ranveer Singh ki dhoti mai Prabhas ka paudha lag raha hai” (You look like a sapling version of Prabhas who is wearing Ranveer Singh’s dhoti).
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar teaser also introduces Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf. Rohit makes a grand entry from a helicopter marked ‘Singh Enterprises’, hinting that his character comes from a wealthier background. The teaser features large dance sequences and a revamped version of Sonu Nigam’s 1999 song ‘Bijuria’, co-written with Ravi Pawar.
The 52-second teaser ends with a funny exchange between Varun and Janhvi’s characters. She tries to convince him she knows what a nightclub is, but he jokingly thinks she is mistaking a jagran for one.
Fans Excited About The Film
Many viewers said the teaser reminded them of the Dulhania films (Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania), especially with Varun in the lead. Fans also praised Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf for getting major roles in a mainstream Bollywood project.
The film reunites director Shashank Khaitan and Varun Dhawan after hits like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). Shashank has also directed Dhadak (2018) and Govinda Naam Mera (2022), and written films like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani (2023) and Dil Bechara (2020).
For the unversed, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is set to release worldwide on October 2.
