Punjab News: CM Bhagwant Mann’s Vision for Safe Education: District Education Officer Issues Guidelines for Fire & Building Safety Certificates in Private Schools

Punjab News: In a significant step towards ensuring the safety of students, District Education Officer (Elementary Education) Manju Bala has issued clear instructions to all private schools in the district to submit updated Fire Safety and Building Safety Certificates for the academic year 2025-26 by September 30, 2025. This directive aligns with the government’s strong commitment to child safety and infrastructure accountability under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Manju Bala emphasized that, as per the Right to Information (RTI) Act, every school is mandated to submit these safety certificates annually after their expiration. Failure to comply may lead to cancellation of school recognition or penalties. This move ensures that educational institutions prioritize a secure learning environment for students.

District Education Officer Issues Guidelines for Fire & Building Safety Certificates in Private Schools

Several prominent private schools, including National Public School Bachhona, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Public School Kot Dharmu, Mother Divine International Public School Matti, Professor Yogesh Memorial School Mansa, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji Day Boarding School Dayalpura, and many others, have been specifically reminded to update their certificates in time.

This initiative is part of the broader efforts by the Mann government to strengthen school infrastructure and enhance accountability in the education sector. By ensuring periodic inspections and compliance, the government aims to make every school a safe haven for children, where they can study and grow without fear.

District Education Officer Manju Bala added, “Our primary focus is the safety and well-being of every child. Timely submission of fire and building safety certificates is a crucial part of creating a secure and conducive educational environment. We are committed to supporting schools in achieving this goal.”
