Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism

Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and a beacon of universal brotherhood, emphasized the ideals of equality, compassion, humility, and selfless service. His teachings promoted harmony among all religions and communities and stood against social evils like caste discrimination and inequality.

This special day marks the remembrance of the divine wisdom and the spiritual light that Guru Nanak Dev Ji spread across the world. Jyoti Joti Divas is celebrated not only by the Sikh community but by people of various faiths who respect the Guru’s message of peace and unity.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann urged citizens to reflect upon Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s core teachings:
Naam Japna (Chanting the Divine Name) – Encouraging a spiritual connection with the Supreme Being to attain inner peace.
Kirat Karni (Honest Living) – Advocating hard work and integrity in all aspects of life.
Vand Chakna (Sharing with Others) – Promoting the spirit of generosity and caring for the underprivileged.

CM Mann further stressed that implementing these timeless values would contribute to building a more just, inclusive, and harmonious society. He reiterated the government’s commitment to preserving the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Punjab, supporting efforts that strengthen communal harmony and promote the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Various celebrations are being organized across Punjab, including prayer gatherings, community services, and interfaith programs to honor the legacy of the Guru and to inspire future generations to live by his enlightened principles.

As the nation celebrates Jyoti Joti Divas, Bhagwant Mann’s message serves as a reminder of the power of unity, compassion, and selfless service in creating a progressive and harmonious India.
