Punjab is now not just a state, but becoming an example of development and trust. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government has proven that the impact of good governance is not limited to cities alone, but can be felt directly at the village square, the farmer’s field, and among the common people.

The repair and construction project of 19,491 kilometers of rural link roads launched from Tarn Taran is not just about building roads. It has brought transformation to Punjab’s rural life, new employment opportunities, and a guarantee of development. The total cost of this massive project is Rs 4,150.42 crore, which includes road construction and repair along with their maintenance for the next five years.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Mann said, “These are not just roads, but pathways to prosperity and convenience in the lives of every farmer, trader, student, and common person. This caravan is not going to stop, because this is Mann Sahab’s guarantee.”

E-tendering and Artificial Intelligence surveys were used to ensure road strength and transparency. This not only improved work quality but also resulted in savings of Rs 383.53 crore. This shows how modern technology can be properly utilized for people’s welfare.

These roads are becoming a new path of development for farmers, youth, and common people. A strong road network will help farmers transport their crops to markets quickly and safely. Both time and effort will be saved, and they will also get fair prices. Compensation of Rs 20,000 per acre will also be given to flood-affected farmers. This is the highest compensation in the country and reflects the government’s sensitivity.

Road safety has also been given priority in this project. Zebra crossings will be created near schools and public places, white edge strips will be installed to prevent fog-related accidents, and signboards will be placed every two kilometers so people can get accurate information.

This project will help bring trade and industrial activities closer to villages, creating new employment opportunities for rural youth. Roads are no longer just a means of transportation but have become a medium to reduce the distance between villages and cities and improve people’s lives.

Chief Minister Mann, while criticizing opposition leaders, said that traditional parties are now stuck in jealousy and envy. He mentioned that the ‘generals’ who pushed the state’s youth into the quagmire of drugs are now behind bars. He also strongly condemned the old claims of Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Punjab has a total of 30,237 link roads with a total length of 64,878 kilometers. Of these, 33,492 kilometers are under the Punjab Mandi Board and 31,386 kilometers are under the Public Works Department. This project includes repair and upgradation of 7,373 link roads.

This initiative launched from Tarn Taran will not only reach villages across the state but also sends a clear message to voters in the upcoming bypolls that the Mann government gives top priority to rural development and public trust.

This road project will bring change to the daily life of every village. Fast and safe access to schools, colleges, and hospitals, fair prices for crops, and new business opportunities will now become commonplace in villages. This shows that Punjab is now on a path where development is not just a slogan but a reality visible in every village and city.
