Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a significant step aimed at empowering farmers and supporting rice millers across the state. The state government has decided that rice millers will receive 3% reimbursement for milling hybrid paddy and 1% reimbursement for milling non-hybrid paddy. This initiative will be fully funded by the Uttar Pradesh government from its budget.

According to CM Yogi Adityanath, this move aligns with the vision of building a “new Uttar Pradesh” that prioritizes prosperous and progressive farmers. The policy is expected to benefit approximately 13 to 15 lakh farmers and over 2,000 rice millers directly.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government remains committed to safeguarding the interests of annadata farmers and ensuring their economic upliftment. He added that this decision will motivate rice mills to process non-hybrid paddy purchased from government procurement centers, promoting balance and efficiency in the state’s agricultural ecosystem.
The initiative underscores the government’s larger mission to enhance agricultural productivity, ensure fair returns to farmers, and strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as an agrarian powerhouse.
