AAP leader Anurag Dhanda has praised the Bhagwant Mann–led Punjab government for its uncompromising stance against drug trafficking. He stated that the administration is fighting an “all-out battle” to protect the youth of Punjab from the grip of narcotics.
Dhanda emphasized that Punjab Police is successfully foiling Pakistan’s nefarious attempts to push drugs across the border, ensuring that young citizens remain safe from addiction.
Zero Tolerance Policy Showing Results
Quoting an update shared by the Aam Aadmi Party, Dhanda highlighted the recent major crackdown by the Firozepur ANTF team, which seized a significant consignment of heroin in the border region. The operation reflects the strong impact of the Mann government’s Zero Tolerance policy against drugs.
The state government maintains that it will continue to strengthen border surveillance, enhance enforcement operations, and dismantle drug networks to safeguard Punjab’s future generations.
Punjab Police Enhances Surveillance on Border Areas
Officials have confirmed that advanced equipment, night-vision technology, and drone surveillance are being increasingly deployed across sensitive border pockets. The integration of intelligence inputs from multiple agencies has helped identify and intercept smuggling routes more effectively. The government asserts that these upgraded measures have already resulted in multiple successful interceptions over the past few months.
Community Support Strengthening the Campaign
Alongside enforcement, the state is also involving local communities in the fight against drug abuse. Awareness drives, village-level outreach programs, and rehabilitation initiatives are being expanded. Authorities say that the combination of strict policing and public cooperation is essential for eliminating the drug menace entirely.
Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Welfare
The Mann government continues to reiterate that the fight against drugs is not just a policing mission but a social responsibility. Ensuring a drug-free environment for the youth remains one of its top priorities, and more initiatives focusing on education, employment, and rehabilitation are expected to be introduced in the coming months.
