Noida International Airport: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will acquire 740 acres from 16 villages in the state of Uttar Pradesh starting next month.
Noida International Airport: Where Will The Land Acquisition Happen?
Land acquisition will involve 56 villages across 2 districts (48 villages in Bulandshahr and 8 villages in Gautam Budh Nagar). Of the Bulandshahr villages, 14 come under the Khurja tehsil and the rest are in Syana, Shikarpur and Bulandshahr. About 2 kilometers of the expressway’s total length will fall within the jurisdiction of YEIDA. This includes an approximately 9-km elevated stretch.
A 24-meter-wide service road will be built around the expressway in Yamuna City for supporting local movement for nearby sectors and villages. The expressway alignment (within Yamuna City) will pass through sectors 6 to 11, 4A, 5A, 16, 33, 21 and 34. Two road overbridges are also expected to be built along the corridor along with a series of underpasses for which designs are in the process of getting finalized.
The alignment will start at the 44.3-km point on Ganga Expressway near Syana, according to YEIDA CEO RK Singh. It will then merge with Yamuna Expressway at the 24.8-km point near the Film City area in sector 21 of YEIDA.
This will save about 6-8 hours for the residents of Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj districts. It will also help in job creation and the establishment of many industries.
What Would Be The Cost Of Acquisition?
The cost of acquisition is estimated at ₹ 1,200 crore. The authority will hand over the acquired land to the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) after completing the acquisition.
The Link Expressway will create a direct and seamless road corridor to the Noida International Airport in Jewar.
According to officials, the survey of the land parcels has already been completed and acquisition preparations are in place. The entire cost for the project is believed to be approximately ₹ 40,000 crore.
