LPG eKYC: Oil marketing companies have been reminding their customers to complete their Self (Face-based) Biometric Aadhaar Authentication (e-KYC) by December 31, 2025 else losing their Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) connection and subsidies.
There may be a possibility that LPG gas connections of customers who fail to complete their e-KYC by the prescribed date could face the risk of their connections being Non Domestic Exempted Categories (NDEC) rate connections by the Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) suo-moto.
LPG KYC: How To Do e-KYC?
LPG customers can download the mobile app of their LPG service provider from the comfort and convenience of their homes. Alternatively, they can visit their LPG distributor’s office with their Aadhar card, LPG connection booklet and their registered mobile number. The e-KYC service is completely free.
Special Announcement For Ujjwala Scheme Beneficiaries
The LPG e-KYC announcement is of special importance to the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Scheme. The targeted subsidy for the 8th and 9th refills has been fixed at Rs. 300 for every financial year. To avail these benefits, biometric Aadhar verification and e-KYC are mandatory every year. If they are not completed, subsidies would be stopped after the 7th refill in a year. However, customers can still avail of subsidies if they complete their e-KYC before the end of the financial year.
