Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday visited the Aviation Club of Punjab Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) College in Patiala, where he interacted with trainee pilots and AME engineers and listened to their experiences and aspirations in the aviation sector. During the visit, the Chief Minister also launched the official website of the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DCA), Punjab at dca.punjab.gov.in, marking a significant step towards strengthening aviation education and transparency in the state.
Bhagwant Mann Interacts with Trainee Pilots
Addressing the trainees, Bhagwant Mann said that the government-run Aviation Club offers much lower fees compared to private institutions, enabling students from ordinary households to pursue careers in aviation and turn their dreams of flying into reality. He emphasised that quality education should not be limited by high costs and reiterated the state government’s commitment to making specialised professional courses more accessible.
Launches DCA Punjab Website in Patiala
The Chief Minister also announced that a state-of-the-art aviation museum will be developed at the Patiala campus at a cost of ₹7 crore. The upcoming museum will feature MiG aircraft, second-generation helicopters, flight simulators, and vintage aircraft, providing students with hands-on learning experiences and exposure to India’s aviation heritage.
Bhagwant Mann said the Punjab government is making every possible effort to empower youth with better opportunities, a supportive environment, and high-quality education. He added that such initiatives are aimed at nurturing talent, boosting skills, and inspiring the next generation to aim higher and achieve global standards in aviation and allied fields.
The visit highlighted the government’s focus on education-led development and youth empowerment in Punjab.
