Riteish Deshmukh is the latest celebrity to join the viral Border 2 trend that has taken over social media. After cricketer KL Rahul showed his support, the Bollywood actor and Bigg Boss Marathi 6 host has added his name to the growing list of stars cheering for Ahan Shetty and the upcoming war drama.
For the past few days, Instagram and X have been flooded with posts using lines like “Jab tak Ahan Shetty ka comment nahi aayega, Border 2 dekhne nahi jaunga.” Fans and celebrities upload videos saying they will watch Border 2 (sometimes more than once) if Ahan Shetty reacts to their post.
Riteish Deshmukh Joins Viral Border 2 Trend
Riteish Deshmukh shared a short Instagram video in which he is seen waiting patiently, expecting a response from Ahan Shetty. Along with the clip, he wrote, “Waiting for Ahan Shetty to comment on my reel so that I can book my ticket to watch Border 2. Jaldi comment karo, I am dying to watch the film.”
The video quickly grabbed attention and fans flooded the comments section. One user wrote, “Bhau Big Boss sodun border 2 pahanar.” Another joked, “Dharti maa ka pota on the way.”
Ahan Shetty soon replied to Riteish’s post and thanked him for the support. He wrote, “Hahahah, lots of love sir. You’ve always supported me unconditionally, and that’s something I’ll carry with me through this journey. Truly grateful from the bottom of my heart.”

Before Riteish Deshmukh, cricketer KL Rahul had already joined the viral Border 2 trend to support his brother-in-law, Ahan Shetty. Rahul shared a video from the cricket field with the text – “Agar Ahan Shetty ne iss video par comment kiya, toh main Border 2 do baar dekhunga” written on it. Sharing the clip, he wrote, “Awaaz pahochni chahiye.”
The reel went viral almost instantly and left Ahan, Suniel Shetty and Athiya Shetty amused. Ahan’s reply stole the spotlight when he wrote, “Bhai, do baar nahi, chaar baar dekhna padega.”
All About Border 2
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a large-scale war drama based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Produced by T-Series and JP Films, the movie builds on the legacy of the 1997 classic Border. It highlights key military operations involving the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy.
The film features an ensemble cast led by Sunny Deol as Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler. Varun Dhawan plays Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, while Diljit Dosanjh appears as Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon. Ahan Shetty plays Lt Cdr M.S. Rawat, carrying forward his father Suniel Shetty’s legacy. The supporting cast includes Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana and Anya Singh.
Made on a massive budget of Rs 150 crore to Rs 250 crore, Border 2 has received a U/A certificate from the CBFC. With a runtime of 3 hours and 19 minutes, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on January 23, 2026, during the Republic Day long weekend.
