Day 9 collections of Awarapan 2 have stood at ₹8.25 crore net from 10,008 shows. The total India net collections of the film have now crossed the mark of ₹127.50 crore, whereas the total India gross collections stand at ₹152.11 crore. The film managed to collect ₹1.50 crore from overseas markets on Day 9. This brings its total overseas gross to ₹28.80 crore, while its total worldwide gross has become ₹180.91 crore. The film’s good performance has been driven by its nostalgia appeal, besides the fact that people continue to be interested in Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities.
Batwara 1947 Sees Slower Growth
Batwara 1947 collected ₹1.15 crore net across 3,247 shows on Day 9. Its India net collection has reached ₹35.50 crore, while the India gross collection stands at ₹42.12 crore. The film earned another ₹0.75 crore from overseas markets on Day 9. Its total overseas gross has reached ₹9 crore, taking its worldwide gross to ₹51.12 crore. Compared with Awarapan 2, the Sunny Deol-starrer has recorded a much slower pace at the box office.
Awarapan 2 Leads the Day 9 Box Office Race
The Day 9 figures underline the growing gap between the two films. Awarapan 2 earned ₹8.25 crore net, nearly seven times Batwara 1947’s ₹1.15 crore Day 9 collection. With the second weekend underway, Awarapan 2 appears to have stronger momentum, while Batwara 1947 will need a significant jump in collections to narrow the gap.
