Rani Mukerji Viral Video: ‘Jitna Acha Actor, Utna Ghatiya Insaan…’ Mardaani 3 Actress Faces Massive Backlash For Normalising Shouting In Relationship

Rani Mukerji viral video sparks backlash as users accuse the actress of normalising shouting in relationships ahead of Mardaani 3. Here’s what she said and why it upset many.

Rani Mukerji Viral Video: The actress has found herself at the centre of an online controversy just days before the release of Mardaani 3. A clip from one of her recent interviews has gone viral, drawing strong reactions from social media users. Many viewers feel her remarks came across as normalising shouting and aggressive behaviour in relationships.

The actress spoke about family dynamics and power balance in marriages. While some believe her intention was to speak against men shouting at women, the way her thoughts were expressed left many confused and upset. The clip spread quickly across platforms like Reddit and X, triggering widespread criticism.

Several users argued that instead of promoting equality, the comments appeared to justify aggressive behaviour when roles are reversed.

Rani Mukerji Viral Video: What Sparked The Backlash?

In the interview, Rani Mukerji explained that she does not believe men should raise their voice at women, especially in a marriage. However, she then added that women raising their voice at men has become more acceptable, suggesting that society has tilted too much in one direction.

Her mention of slapping “only one boy” and referring to the others as friends did not go down well with viewers. Many felt this statement downplayed physical aggression. Another remark about her husband, delivered in a joking tone, further added to the backlash, as some felt it trivialised serious issues related to behaviour at home. Many users felt her words normalised unhealthy behaviour.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Rani said, “A father raising his voice at the mother should not happen. It should not happen. You know, the mother should raise her voice at the father. That’s how it should be. The pendulum has gone that side so much; now, it should go this side. There’s only one boy I slapped; the rest of the boys were all my friends. That’s true. That’s okay, yeah. And just don’t go and ask my husband what happens to him every day at home.”

After the video surfaced, social media users reacted sharply. Some compared with Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, saying that while Sunita may speak loudly, her points often make sense. Several Reddit users also questioned why such statements were not being called out more strongly, stressing that normalising shouting sets BAD example.

“Koi Rani aur Sunita ka debate karao bhai full maza ajaega… Sunita will break Rani’s delululu bubble.”

“They are both crass, but even Sunita is more sensible than Rani trust me, Rani is another level uncouth.”

“Whenever I see her, I feel like I’m listening to an illiterate woman who has just lucked out in life and has been given a podium to voice her stupid opinions.”

“Sahi flair rakha hai ye aurat ke liye she always has the most outlandish takes. You don’t need to torture men to settle scores and become the oppressors yourselves.”

“Koi jitna accha actor hota hai utna hi ghatiya insaan kaise hota hai ka proper example hai ye. I love her movies, especially her work with srk, saif and amir and yet she has such ideology.”

“What kind of behaviour is this? I honestly don’t understand why no one ever calls her out. Just because she’s from an older generation doesn’t mean she can say anything she wants.”

“Sunita jee do talk loud but she does make sense many times, Rani Madam to baba re.”

“Normalising shouting in a relationship (no matter who does it) is a strange hill to die on.”
