As part of its sustained statewide crackdown on narcotics, Punjab Police, under the ongoing campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, achieved significant results on Day 339 of the drive. Acting on coordinated intelligence and ground-level enforcement, police teams arrested 143 drug smugglers across various districts of the state.

During the operations, law enforcement agencies recovered 12.2 kilograms of heroin, 12 kilograms of ganja, and 2,412 intoxicant tablets and capsules, indicating the scale and seriousness of drug trafficking networks operating in the region. Multiple raids were conducted simultaneously at identified hotspots to disrupt supply chains and prevent further circulation of narcotics.

Beyond enforcement, the campaign continues to focus on rehabilitation and social reform. Forty individuals were motivated and guided towards de-addiction and rehabilitation programmes, reflecting the state government’s dual approach of strict action against traffickers and compassionate intervention for victims of substance abuse.
According to official data, the cumulative impact of the campaign over 339 days has been substantial. A total of 47,435 drug smugglers have been arrested so far, highlighting the consistency and intensity of Punjab Police’s efforts to curb the drug menace.
The anti-drug initiative aligns with the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government’s commitment to making the state drug-free through firm policing, community participation, and rehabilitation-focused strategies. Officials reiterated that the campaign will continue with the same momentum until narcotics networks are completely dismantled.
