Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 20: Sunny Deol’s Border 2 is continuing to struggle at the box office in its third week. The action-packed sequel starring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty earned just Rs 1.75 crore on its 20th day. Daily collections are steadily declining, and the film is now eyeing lifetime records of War and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Despite a strong opening, the film has failed to maintain momentum. Its total India net collection of Rs 316 crore (so far) still lags behind films like Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Rajinikanth’s Jailer. Analysts suggest it is unlikely to enter the Top 20 highest-grossing Indian films unless weekend collections see a major boost.

Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 20

Border 2 opened with Rs 30 crore on Friday, rose to Rs 36.5 crore on Saturday, and reached Rs 54.5 crore on Sunday. Monday brought Rs 59 crore, but Tuesday saw a steep drop to Rs 20 crore. Wednesday earned Rs 13 crore, and Thursday added Rs 11.25 crore, taking the first-week total to Rs 224.25 crore.

Week two continued to weaken. Saturday and Sunday saw small rises to Rs 17.75 crore and Rs 22.5 crore, but the week ended at Rs 70.15 crore, down almost 69% from week one. Week three has worsened further: Friday earned Rs 2.85 crore, Saturday spiked to Rs 5.25 crore, Monday fell to Rs 2 crore, and Wednesday’s early estimate is just Rs 1.75 crore.

The film is now chasing the lifetime India collections of Hrithik Roshan’s War (Rs 318.01 crore) and Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 320.34 crore). The coming weekend will be crucial, especially with Shahid Kapoor and Triptii’s O Romeo releasing on February 13.

About The Sequel

Border 2 follows joint operations of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, highlighting battles like the Battle of Basantar and Operation Chengiz Khan. Sunny Deol returns as Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler, Varun Dhawan plays PVC Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, Diljit Dosanjh portrays PVC Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon and Ahan Shetty appears as Lt Cdr Mahendra Singh Rawat.

The film has earned a domestic net total of Rs 316 crore and a worldwide gross of Rs 464 crore, receiving a HIT verdict. Despite a strong start, it could not match the long-term success of Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar, which had strong word-of-mouth and crossed Rs 1,000 crore worldwide. Many pointed out its dragging first half, weak VFX in the finale and less emotional depth than the original 1997 film.

The digital premiere is reportedly set for March 20, 2026 on Netflix.
