More About SRK’s King

Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is being developed as a large-scale action thriller. The film is produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment along with Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Pictures. Reports suggest the film has a budget of around Rs 350 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian films.

In the film, Shah Rukh Khan plays a dark and ruthless professional assassin. The character has been described as “menacing” and “ice-cold,” showing a darker side of the actor on screen.

Another major highlight of the film is Suhana Khan’s big-screen debut. In King, she plays the protege of Shah Rukh Khan’s character. The story follows a mentor-disciple relationship where the “King” trains her to survive in a dangerous, crime-filled world.

The film also features Abhishek Bachchan in a rare negative role. He plays the main antagonist who faces off against Shah Rukh Khan in an intense showdown. Apart from the lead trio, the film reportedly has a large ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff and Arshad Warsi in important roles.

The story of King is said to unfold across two timelines, showing different stages of the characters’ lives. A younger version of Shah Rukh Khan’s character will reportedly face an antagonist played by Raghav Juyal, while the older timeline focuses on his clash with Abhishek Bachchan’s character.

The film is also being shot internationally. Apart from Mumbai, several scenes are being filmed in Warsaw, Poland. One major action sequence featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in Europe reportedly cost around Rs 50 crore to shoot.

The music of King is composed by Sachin–Jigar, marking their first collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan. The background score is being created by Anirudh Ravichander, who earlier worked with the superstar on Jawan.

King is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on December 24, 2026, and is already among the most awaited Bollywood films.
