Actor Allu Arjun‘s brother Allu Sirish recently opened up about the trolling he faced for his bold wedding look and said he does not regret breaking gender stereotypes. The actor wore heavy jewellery during his engagement, pre-wedding ceremonies and wedding with entrepreneur Nayanika Reddy and his fashion choices quickly became a topic of discussion on social media. While some praised his confidence, others mocked his look and called it feminine. Sirish says he expected the reaction and chose to go ahead anyway.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor said he feels confident enough to decide for himself what he wants to wear and does not believe others should define masculinity.
The actor wore diamond and gold jewellery at several wedding functions. During the ceremonies, he even applied mehendi with Nayanika’s name along with Lord Balaji’s namam-shanku-chakra on the big day. His engagement look in October 2025 had already gone viral after he wore an intricate choker, which led to memes and trolling online.
According to Sirish, the criticism did not surprise him because fashion rules for men are often limited. He believes these rules should change. He said, “Gender norms are a new construct, and in ancient times, we were more gender fluid. Men also wore jewellery, and until a hundred years ago, there was no separate perfume for men and women. But now, it’s all blue for boys and pink for girls. I thought even if I get trolled, let me break that. We needed to start somewhere.”

Allu Sirish Says Even Close Ones Questioned His Wedding Style
Sirish also revealed that not everyone around him agreed with his idea at first. He said some people close to him wondered if wearing jewellery at the wedding was necessary. However, the actor felt that change would never happen unless someone tried.
He said, “They were like, enduku, ipudu avasarama haralu veskovadam (do you need to wear a necklace now)? I said, ehe urukondi. Manam kuda try cheyyakapote inkevaru chestaru. Ilage untundi inko iravai elu kuda. (Let it go. If we also don’t try it, nobody will. Things will stay the same for 20 more years).”
He added that weddings are special moments in life, and he wanted his outfits to reflect his personality and culture. The actor also pointed out that men usually get fewer fashion choices compared to women, which makes accessories an important way to express style.
Allu Sirish concluded by saying, “Men, we don’t get to play with clothes, only accessories. I’m saying it’s restricting. Besides, I am pretty self-assured, so I don’t need others to dictate what’s masculine or feminine. I will dictate what I can wear and nobody else.”
About His Wedding With Nayanika Reddy
Allu Sirish married Hyderabad-based entrepreneur Nayanika Reddy on March 6, 2026, in an intimate ceremony at Aina Farms in Hyderabad. The date was special for the family as it marked the 15th wedding anniversary of his elder brother, Allu Arjun.
The wedding was attended by several high-profile guests, including Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, actors Ram Charan and Suriya, and members of the Allu-Konidela family.
Despite the trolling, Sirish continued to wear jewellery at the wedding, including a meenakari tassel pendant, silver anklets and traditional ornaments. He later shared historical images of Indian maharajas and Mughal rulers wearing similar pieces, saying such fashion has always been part of Indian culture.
