CM Yogi Adityanath: The Uttar Pradesh government will provide financial assistance of ₹1 lakh each to 555 pilgrims undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, aiming to make the spiritual journey more accessible and convenient.

The programme will be held on March 17, 2026 at 3:30 PM at Lok Bhavan, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will distribute the assistance to selected beneficiaries.
The initiative is being implemented under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the state government emphasising faith, service and the convenience of devotees as key priorities. Officials said the move reflects the government’s commitment to respecting religious sentiments and supporting pilgrims.
According to the government, the financial aid will help ease the high cost associated with the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, which is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages for devotees of Lord Shiva.
The assistance will be provided to permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh after completion of the yatra, based on application submission and verification of documents. The subsidy aims to reduce the financial burden on pilgrims and encourage greater participation in the religious journey.

Officials also highlighted that the state government has developed the Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan in Ghaziabad to facilitate pilgrims from across the country. The facility provides accommodation, food and medical check-up services for travellers before they proceed on their journey.
Senior ministers, including Suresh Kumar Khanna and Jaiveer Singh, are expected to be present during the event.
The government stated that such initiatives underline its focus on promoting religious tourism while ensuring better support systems for devotees undertaking spiritually significant journeys.
