The name Siddhidatri comes from two words — Siddhi, meaning perfection or supernatural power, and Datri, meaning giver. She is usually shown seated on a lotus or riding a lion, holding a chakra, gada, shankh, and lotus in her four hands.
According to Hindu beliefs, Maa Siddhidatri played an important role in the creation of the universe. It is said that in the beginning, the universe was filled with darkness until the divine energy appeared as Mahashakti. Lord Shiva performed deep penance to please this supreme power, who then appeared as Maa Siddhidatri and granted him the Ashta Siddhis, the eight supernatural powers.
Later, she merged with Lord Shiva’s left side, creating the divine form of Ardhanarishwara, symbolising the balance of masculine and feminine energies in the universe. Because of this, Navami is considered the day of completion, balance, and spiritual fulfilment.

In a video shared on the YouTube channel Jyotish Ratan Kendra, an astrologer said that Navami is the most powerful day for completing pending work and fulfilling wishes if worship is done with devotion.
