Bhooth Bangla Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar starrer Bhooth Bangla has finally arrived in cinemas with strong curiosity and high expectations. The horror-comedy also marks his reunion with director Priyadarshan after a long gap, which added extra buzz ahead of release. The film was released on April 17 and opened to mixed-to-positive reviews. While the start is decent, it has not managed to break into record territory.
Early box office numbers suggest a fair opening, but competition from recent horror-comedies remains strong.

As per Sacnilk, Bhooth Bangla has collected around Rs 12.25 crore net on Day 1 so far. The film managed to sell nearly 1.3 lakh tickets on its opening day, showing steady audience interest.
Before release, the film also earned Rs 3.32 crore from advance bookings in India. In addition, it collected Rs 3.50 crore net from paid previews, which helped push early momentum.
With all numbers combined, the total India gross stands at approximately Rs 18.90 crore, while the net collection is around Rs 15.75 crore so far.
However, despite a stable start, Bhooth Bangla is not among the biggest horror-comedy openers in recent times.

Bhooth Bangla Lags Behind Major Box Office Competitors
In the horror-comedy space, Bhooth Bangla still has a long way to go. Films like Stree 2 (Rs 55 crore) and Thamma (Rs 24 crore) have set much higher opening benchmarks.

Interestingly, Bhooth Bangla has managed to cross the opening day figure of Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which stood at Rs 14.50 crore. However, the gap becomes wider when compared to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which earned a massive Rs 35 crore on Day 1 alone.
Even when combined with paid previews, Akshay Kumar’s latest release still trails behind Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 by a large margin. It also shows a similar opening range to his previous film Jolly LLB 3, indicating no major jump in opening strength.

The film follows Arjun Acharya, played by Akshay Kumar, who inherits an old ancestral palace in Mangalpur. What seems like a simple solution for his sister’s wedding soon turns into a terrifying experience.
As Arjun moves into the palace, he faces strange supernatural events. The story unfolds across different timelines, including the present, the 1990s, and the 1950s. It also connects mythology and black magic themes inspired by ancient Indian texts.
The film features a strong cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Mithila Palkar, Manoj Joshi, and Rajesh Sharma. Veteran actor Asrani also appears in a notable role.
With a runtime of around 164 minutes, the film went through slight trimming after certification. The reported budget is around Rs 120 crore, with a significant portion attributed to Akshay Kumar’s fee.
