Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has alleged serious irregularities in the recruitment process prior to 2017, claiming that even individuals with “fake degrees” held key positions and influenced selections.

In a statement shared on social media, the Chief Minister said that earlier there was widespread corruption, including monetary transactions, which disrupted fair recruitment and delayed appointments.

Referring to the functioning of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, he stated that the system faced “anarchy,” with recruitment processes often stalled and lacking transparency. He also indicated that at one point, recruitment activities were under a stay order, further affecting job aspirants.

Reforms after assuming office

Highlighting changes introduced after he assumed office in 2017, Yogi Adityanath said his government worked towards making the selection process transparent and merit-based. He added that necessary permissions were obtained from the Supreme Court within a short period to resume stalled recruitments.

The Chief Minister emphasized that over the past nine years, significant improvements have been made to streamline recruitment procedures, reduce corruption, and ensure timely hiring in government departments.
