Continuing its anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, Punjab Police has carried out a major crackdown across the state, arresting 126 drug smugglers in its latest operation.

According to official information, the police also recovered 614 grams of heroin, 733 intoxicant tablets and capsules, and ₹1,350 in drug money during the कार्रवाई.

Bhagwant Mann: Statewide raids conducted

The investigation was part of Day 430 of the ongoing anti-drug campaign, during which raids were conducted at multiple locations across Punjab. The campaign has been running as a sustained effort to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse.

Focus on rehabilitation

In addition to enforcement, authorities also focused on de-addiction efforts. Around 15 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting a dual approach of strict policing and social intervention.

Cumulative crackdown figures

Officials stated that since the launch of the campaign, a total of 62,639 drug smugglers have been arrested so far.

Zero-tolerance approach

Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drugs, emphasizing continued investigation against trafficking networks while also supporting rehabilitation initiatives to address addiction at the community level.
