Soon, the tone shifts as Sameer is seen interacting through a dating app and making questionable remarks about relationships. He even admits to having a flawed personality, describing himself in harsh terms. The teaser builds discomfort as his carefree lifestyle starts showing darker undertones.
A major twist arrives when Sameer is suddenly arrested on charges of sexual assault. While he denies the accusations and claims he is being framed, the situation turns tense and unpredictable. This shift forms the emotional core of the story.

Anurag Kashyap Builds A Dark Psychological Crime Drama
As expected from Anurag Kashyap, the Bandar Teaser quickly moves into a gritty narrative space. A large portion of the film appears to be set inside a jail, highlighting Sameer’s psychological decline and legal battle.
The teaser also introduces Sanya Malhotra as Sameer’s sister, who openly criticises him and calls him an “idiot.” This adds emotional weight and family conflict to the storyline.
The film features an ensemble cast including Sapna Pabbi, Indrajith Sukumaran, Jitendra Joshi, Raj B Shetty, Riddhi Sen and others. It premiered earlier at the Toronto International Film Festival, adding global attention to the project.
Following online discussions, Anurag Kashyap clarified that Bandar is not linked to the MeToo movement. He explained that the story focuses on a false accusation case and not on any sexual power dynamic or workplace abuse narrative.
He further stated that MeToo deals with the misuse of power by individuals in authority, which is not the subject of this film. According to him, the story is centred on a different kind of legal and emotional conflict.
