Raja Shivaji Box Office Collection Day 7: Riteish Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji is creating history at the Marathi box office. The historical drama crossed the Rs 50 crore mark within just seven days of release and is now moving close to the lifetime collection of Ved. With packed theatres and strong audience response, the film continues its successful run across Maharashtra.
Released on Maharashtra Day, Raja Shivaji opened with huge buzz and quickly became one of the biggest Marathi openers ever. Unlike many films that slow down after the weekend, the movie remained steady during weekdays because of positive word-of-mouth and family audience support.
Trade experts now believe the film could become one of the biggest Marathi blockbusters ever if it continues performing strongly in the second weekend.

About The Film
Directed by Riteish Deshmukh, Raja Shivaji tells the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s early life and his rise towards establishing Hindavi Swarajya. The film focuses on his bond with Jijabai and his rivalry with Afzal Khan.
Riteish plays Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, while Sanjay Dutt appears as Afzal Khan. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bhagyashree, Genelia Deshmukh, Vidya Balan, Fardeen Khan and Sachin Khedekar. Salman Khan’s cameo as Jiva Mahale has also become a major highlight.
Made on a reported budget of Rs 75–100 crore, Raja Shivaji is currently the most expensive Marathi film ever made. Riteish reportedly worked on the project for more than 10 years and spent over three years on the script alone.
Reports also suggest that stars like Salman Khan worked in the film without charging fees as a tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film was shot in locations like Satara, Mahabaleshwar and the Western Ghats, which added to its grand scale and visual appeal.
