‘You May Remove the Film, But Not the Truth’ Sikh Leaders React as Diljit Dosanjh’s Satluj Heads to Gurudwaras Across Five States For Screening

After being removed from ZEE5 within 48 hours of its release, Diljit Dosanjh's Satluj will now be screened at gurudwaras across Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Jammu.

Diljit Dosanjh: Satluj, starring Diljit Dosanjh, has been removed from ZEE5 just two days after its release, and the film is now being screened for a new audience through community screenings.

Why Is Satluj Screened in Gurudwaras?

The decision was taken after the movie was pulled down from ZEE5 just two days after its release. Sikh groups think that a very significant story should be available for their community members, regardless of whether the movie is on a streaming platform or not. They said that the screenings would ensure that everyone gets to know about the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.

Sikh Leaders Respond to the Takedown

Sikh leaders strongly criticized the removal of the film and expressed their determination to keep its story alive. One of the key messages shared by community representatives was, “You may remove the film, but not the truth.” They said the screenings are meant to preserve an important historical narrative for future generations.

Gurudwaras Across Five States Join the Initiative

According to reports, Gurudwara committees in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Jammu have come together to organise community screenings. In Jammu, screenings are scheduled between July 10 and July 13, while Jaipur will host a public screening at the Baba Fateh Singh Auditorium in Chandi Ki Taksal Gurudwara.

DSGMC Demands the Film’s Return

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has extended its support to the screening campaign. DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka has also urged authorities to restore Satluj on ZEE5, saying audiences should have the opportunity to watch the film through official platforms as well.

Diljit Dosanjh’s Reaction

Diljit Dosanjh: After the film’s removal, Diljit Dosanjh briefly reacted to the situation by saying the development was “bound to happen.” Although he did not elaborate further, his statement quickly gained attention among fans and industry observers.
